Our workplace
In specific sections within the Employment Service, there are specialists for job seekers with disabilities related to vision, deafness, and hearing. The specialists include audiologists, deaf consultants, vision specialists, employment officers, and SIUS consultants.
The section belongs to the unit of Jämtland/Härjedalen but works throughout the entire Northern Region. The goal of our work is to create full participation and equality for individuals with the aforementioned disabilities by providing them support and creating conditions for work or education.
Job Description
The role of the audiologist within the Employment Service focuses on being an active part of the labor market policy assessment. In all contacts with job seekers, we maintain a supportive and guiding approach. Documentation is an important and recurring aspect of the tasks. The work requires active collaboration both internally and externally.
The audiologists' task is to assess job seekers' conditions for work or studies and to evaluate the need for adjustments in work/study. You will also work with interpreting medical documents and assessing the need for and testing of work aids.
The Employment Service places great emphasis on digital development, which permeates all aspects of our work. Therefore, it is of great importance that you have both the willingness and ability to utilize digital tools.
Your work will also involve collaborating with various partners such as the Social Insurance Agency, hearing care services, educational providers, and employers. The position requires travel within the region on a daily basis.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The place of employment is Sundsvall.

Basic Requirements for the Position
- Audiologist degree and license from the National Board of Health and Welfare
- Good knowledge of working conditions for individuals with hearing impairments, tinnitus, and sound sensitivity
- Experience in assessing/evaluating hearing ability
- Experience with compensatory aids for individuals with hearing impairments
- Good knowledge of how adjustments, both technical and environmental, can improve conditions for individuals with hearing impairments in a work or study situation
- Driving license B
Other Qualifications for the Position
- Very good knowledge of sign language
- Experience working with individuals with deafblindness
- Training in Supported Employment or other method-based support interventions
- Experience coaching or guiding job seekers with disabilities affecting work ability
- Experience conducting motivational and solution-focused conversations
